Art I Beginning artists 
7-11 year olds

 In Art I, we will learn the basics of line, shape, values, texture and color. We will study composition and three-dimensional shapes, shadows, and light. Students proceed through these lessons with several mediums: pencil, ink, charcoal, and watercolor. The goal for students is to learn how to see objects and render them on paper. Students should have an interest in art somewhat beyond what the typical child does. Most of my students say they are artists. Students must know how to read and write, focus, and understand class structures, and their reward is improved art, knowledge, and self-confidence. There are usually home projects. Students must know how to read and write
